Serving is an essential part of the process of growing in Christ. Jesus himself "did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many." (Matt 20:28)  Service invites us to step outside of ourselves and place the needs of others before our own. This is the essence of Love and the very thing that Christ used to summarize the entire law when He said, "‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” (Matt. 22:37-40)
