Children’s Ministry

FIRST SERVE: Children’s Church Leader

Lead a group of elementary children on a rotating schedule with an assistant. You will be responsible for leading discussion and following a lesson plan that includes a video presentation. This position is for someone who loves working with children and desires to share God’s word. Curriculum, training and support/assistants are provided.

FIRST SERVE: Nursery Team Member

Nursery Team Member provides physical, emotional and spiritual nurture to meet the needs of infants and toddlers. You will serve on a rotating schedule, currently about once every 6 weeks. You are welcome to come and see if you enjoy ministering to infants and toddlers. Please call Denise Beaulieu to set up a time to serve in the nursery.

FIRST SERVE: Sunday School Coordinator:

Looking for someone to organize and oversee the Sunday school classes for our nursery through 5^th grade. This person would need to be on hand each Sunday to ensure all teachers are present and all materials are available. This person must be a member in good standing of WEFC. FIRST SERVE: Sunday School Teacher:

Looking for teachers to serve the Sunday School season which runs from September through May. Each teacher would be paired with at least one other to team teach and compliment each other’s style. We are currently looking for teachers to serve in all age groups, from nursery through 4^th grade. Sunday Service

FIRST SERVE: Greeter

Greeters are an important and essential ministry even though a minimal commitment of time is required. We are the “first impression” of folks arriving for service. A smile and warm handshake make folks feel welcome. For new attendees or visitors, information (i.e., location of rest rooms, nurseries, literature table and guest book) is essential. For your “First Serve” opportunity, please call Karen.

FIRST SERVE: Communion for Sunday Service

Communion is served on the first Sunday of each month. Arrive at church 45 minutes before service. Place lace tablecloth on table in front of podium in sanctuary. Retrieve silver communion plates. There are six bread plates and five plates for the juice. Fill the juice plates with plastic cups and fill with 100% grape juice. Fill each bread plate with the appropriate communion cracker wafer. Place all plates on table. After first service, refill as needed and replace. Arrange for someone to clean plates, fold tablecloth and store all supplies away. Check before communion Sunday for supplies and purchase accordingly. Complete reimbursement voucher.

FIRST SERVE: Usher

The usher is a personal representative of Jesus Christ who meets people on a person-to-person basis when they first arrive at church. As such, the usher’s ministry of service must be recognized as a profoundly important one. The function of an usher deals with their attitudes toward people, toward the service in progress and toward himself. All other duties are contained in the “Responsibilities of Ushers” handout.

Mom Connection

FIRST SERVE: Mentor Moms

Impact the lives of moms with young children by developing a relationship with a small group and praying for them, encouraging them and discussing everyday mothering challenges with them.

FIRST SERVE: Moppets Worker

Once a month, provide childcare to a group of young children and infants who need to be held, toddlers who want to play games or preschoolers who are learning about Jesus. While you minister to these children, their mothers are also being ministered to.

Evangelism

FIRST SERVE: Evangelism Outreach

Help serve in various capacities for a variety of evangelistic events at the church. Some may include events such as the Harvest Party, Living Nativity scene and others. Most events would require the ability and time to set-up and tear down for such events.
